Cendol @ Jonker 88

Many folks say Jonker 88 (a.k.a. Museum Cafe) @ Jonker Street serves the best cendol in Malacca, we can see why. As I mentioned here, we saw a line of people waiting outside, but it was not so long as to discourage us from actually trying to get a few bowls of cendol.

As we stepped inside, it was packed!

However, we were relieved when we got a table.

The cendol, which is available in a few different variations at Jonker 88, comes with strands of green jelly-like cendol in finely shaved ice drizzled with a generous amount of thick gula melaka (palm sugar) syrup and topped with fresh coconut milk it would melt instantly the moment it touches the lips! An interesting fact about Jonker 88 is that it's also the state's first museum cafe with its interior displaying antiques, which are all up for sale.

#5 How can you say no to this?

When it's hot out there, beat the heat with a good bowl of cendol!
