All of her songs are about her, and they are usually about love. "Jar of Hearts" has been described as an autobiographical song for Christina Perri, recalling an ex-boyfriend who returned to her life, much to her dismay, propelled her to move back to L.A.
In the music video which embodies the sad yet empowering nature of the song, Perri (in a white dress and combat boots), along with backup dancers, fight their feelings against the man who has been collecting his "jar of hearts." I love it for the striking visuals, haunting melodies and aching lyrics...
