Durian Buffet @ SS2, PJ

Recently, we stopped at one of the roadside durian stalls in SS2 to eat 'til we dropped.

Eat all you can for only RM9 per person, so just whack!

There are so many varieties or species of durian, which all have their own taste and color with names like D2, D101, D24, D88, XO and Musang King. *confused*

There were rows and rows of durians for all you durian fanatics.

For durian lovers like us, it is hard to resist the "king of fruits" when we have sensed the aroma and even harder once, we have seen the flesh.

White, wrinkled meat with a texture like whipped cream and a bittersweet, nutty taste.

For me, eating durian flesh directly is the best way to enjoy the fruit because the taste is optimal and original. The textures and flavors, ranging from the smooth, fragrant to the husky, and bittersweet, will undoubtedly leave an exquisite taste in your mouth. I personally love durians with slightly bitter taste yet creamy and sweet.

Yellow-meat durians are usually just sweet, not bittersweet. They also are less likely to have a nutty flavor.

This durian stall also has been featured in Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan, a TV program on TV3.

Well, durian is commonly known to possess a 'heaty' effect. If you eat durian before bedtime, you will not need a blanket!

However, many claim that this effect can be countered by drinking water from the durian husk. To rid hands and breath from the odor of a durian, pour water into an empty husk; rinse and drink from it. Love it or hate it, a durian will always sticks out like no other fruit. Smiley
